About Volunteer DNG is an initiative that's an integral part of DNG Tanzania (Deploy & Nurturing Gallery), a non-governmental organization deeply rooted in the heart of Tanzania. Established in October 2020, DNG Tanzania has since hosted and facilitated over 30 local and international volunteers.
These volunteers are grouped into three categories:
- Short-term: Volunteering for less than 12 months.
- Long-term: Volunteering for over 12 months.
- Retired: Individuals who, after volunteering, choose to stay and enjoy their lives in Tanzania because they've fallen in love with the land, its people, and its culture.
Our volunteers have made a tremendous impact. Their contributions include rainwater harvesting projects that provide safe water to communities facing scarcity, counselings support, fundraising, youth empowerment, and educational initiatives.
Due to this success, we decided in 2024 to establish a dedicated platform for managing volunteers professionally. This platform is operated and run by volunteers themselves, both national and international. This initiative was born from ideas generated during volunteers' reflection meetings, marking the rebirth of Volunteer DNG.
